We take pride in our day-to-day responsibility of managing the cooperative's charitable giving across various categories, including cash donations, surplus asset donations, sports sponsorships, promotional giveaways/advertising and in-kind services.

Operation Round Up

Operation Round Up

Operation Round Up is an initiative empowering Mor-Gran-Sou Electric members to make a difference in our communities. 

Our Foundation Board, comprising of Mor-Gran-Sou Electric members themselves, diligently allocates these funds through grants to local non-profit organizations.  All rounded-up funds are channeled directly into the Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Charitable Foundation, Inc., under the oversight of the board of directors.

Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC)

Rural Development

The Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC) is a North Dakota nonprofit finance and development corporation whose member-owners are all the North Dakota Rural Electric Cooperatives, nine of the North Dakota Rural Telecommunication Cooperatives and the North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives.  

Complete the application and send it back Mor-Gran-Sou Electric to be signed. If your application is selected by your cooperative, it will be forwarded to the RDFC on your behalf for final approval.

Guidelines:

  • Eligible projects: community owned businesses (café, grocery store, motel, other); community facilities (such as ambulance services, fire districts, recreation, hospital/clinic, community center, etc.); workforce development or community-based projects (such as school/youth projects) that benefit rural areas and lead to community betterment.
  • RDFC does not provide funds for medical fundraisers or general operating costs.
  • Matching funds: $4 dollars of other funds to every $1 of RDFC funds. (for example: $8,000 in matching funds needed for a $2,000 grant request)
  • Maximum/minimum grant amounts: The minimum grant amount is $1,000; the maximum is $2,000.
