Radiant Cove Heat
Radiant heat will heat anything in its line of sight, up – down – sideways, it does not matter. Radiant heat, unlike hot air, is unaffected by gravity. By mounting radiant heat high on the wall close to the ceiling it can "see" and therefore, heat the room from above. Radiant heat does not rise like hot air but rather travels in a straight line until striking an object. The first place radiant heat goes is down not up.
Radiant heat costs less to install and is installed high up and out of the way. Because of this ideal mounting location, it requires none of your precious floor space. Radiant heat can also be installed over doorways and interior walls which costs less to wire.
Radiant heat operates at such a temperature as to not even require an overheat switch. Baseboards can overheat and cause fires when blocked and the overheat switch fails.
To take advantage of the electric heat rate, cove heater must be 240 volt.
